Vacation Worthy: South Korea

Korea is one of my favorite places to visit. Actually, it's my favorite out of the places I've been before. Korea is small country that feels larger than it physically looks. Korea contains lots of picture worthy places, but I've only been there twice. I also love it because it is the origin place of KPOP and my extended family lives there too. During the second time I went, it was even more amazing because I went during the summer. That was a.k.a when Produce 101 Season 2 held it's finale. I love that show and it is my absolute favorite. Therefore, I got to see it live! Anyways, I have attached some reviews, pictures, and more to this blog post about traveling to Korea!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

First I want to talk about the fabulous SMTOWN Coexartium. It was absolutely wonderful! It was packed with so much merch and more. It is ideal because it is also for those who love those who love kpop, especially groups like EXO, Red Velvet, Super Junior, and such. I found SMTOWN really interesting and it was even cooler with the small cafe around the gift shop where there were tables and chairs that were autographed. In addition, the gift shops were H-U-G-E. That was pretty awesome because it was packed with so many things. There was also some nice places to take pictures where they painted a whole section with a bunch of idols like Chanyeol from EXO. Right next to it there was a photo booth where you could virtually take pictures with the idols from SM! That was really cool and next to it was a virtual concert I think, but unfortunately, I didn't get to watch one because I was in a rush to go explore the rest of the country and cities.

Second is the Line Friends Cafe in Gangnam Gu. It was pretty cute and good for some ideal pictures. the pictures came out really good for me. As you can see on the right, that is one of the characters in the LINE 'society.' I loved the little toys and stationery supplies at the cafe. It wasn't exactly only a cafe, it was full of other things like stationary, photo stations, and merchandise. The cafe was particularly small compared to all of the other sections of the building. The building is multiple floored so that there are more things that are open. The food was not bad, but it wasn't the best. I would say the presentation for everything was spectacular.

Third is Korean BBQ! This is a food brought down from the gods. It is spread out all over the country and around the world. For instance, there are so many places in Southern California to catch a bite of the Korean BBQ. However, the BBQ in Korea is amazing and so much better because it is fresh. I like how everywhere has slightly different taste per restaurant. Korean BBQ for pork is delicious in Jeju Island. The people call it Heulk Daeji. (in English it's the Jeju Black Pork) This pork is extra chewy and juicier, so if you ever visit Jeju Island, my advice is to definitely get a bite of the barbecue.

Fourth is the Love Locks at the famous Namsan Seoul Tower. You can also find this gate in Paris too. However, the Love Locks in Korea is a two in one trip kind of thing, because it is next to a famous sight seeing attraction, the Namsan Tower, or the N Seoul Tower. So basically how this works is that you buy a lock and sign your name on it and lock the lock onto the gate. You keep the key and maybe you'll come back in twenty years to re-open it.

Fifth is just a Korean Street food. It isn't just a Korean street food actually, it is one of my favorites, it is the Hodduk. It is really good because it is crispy on the outside, but soft on the inside. The Hodduk is really sweet and tasty. I love to eat it when it's hot or warm. I ate this right when I got off of KTX to go to Busan.

The sixth one is Jeju Island which is one of my must visits. It is an island which makes it beautiful. The island is full of beautiful scenes to visit. I loved to go to the ocean. This is also where the Jeju Black Pork lives. Those iconic stone statues are known for being in Jeju island.

The seventh one is the Korean Furniture Museum. It is really vintage and antiquely beautiful. It is very traditional and it leaves me in awe. It portrays different types of architectural structures, furnitures, and uses during a different era in Korea a long time ago. I really love al of the amazing antiques there. Although it wasn't placed in the middle of a busy shopping street, I appreciated how quiet and peaceful it was.

The eight attraction is the Dongdaemun Design Plaza, also known as DDP. It is very trendy and it is vibrant too. It is lined up with tasty food trucks like this one food truck that sold cotton candy on a LED stick, but it was as big as my face or even bigger! There was also a garden full of LED roses; it was so pretty! Inside of the DDP was kind of like a museum, it had so many cool art pieces along with amazing tech gadget exhibitions. It had a store that was THE best. I have to say, that I wish I could've spent more time there, because it was absolutely one of my favorites. The store had lots of cute little toys like plushes, addictively adorable stationary, jewelry, gadgets, food, and more! I really enjoyed browsing all of the cute little things at the DDP store. I also liked how there were some hands-on activities like making your own pen and chocolate that could be customized. It made absolutely a fab-tastic gift for my father's birthday. I also liked how on the way there, I saw a kpop group. Although they aren't a major group like BTS, EXO, TWICE, or Wanna One, it was still a group. The group was called HINT and I really enjoyed their performance.

The ninth place is the Handmade Stamps in Invading where there are so many creative and trendy areas and stores. I made my own stamp with my name on it at this shop called Handmade Stamps. Next to it were a bunch of cool places for food, antique shops, trendy areas, and shops. It was really impressive and I was shocked at how fast they made the stamps. I ordered a stamp from the store, and the man said he would have them ready by one hour or half and hour-ish. I was really shocked and I was worried about the quality. However, it was the best quality stamp. I didn't know that it would take them such a short time to hand pick a stamp.

The tenth place doesn't have a picture, but it is spread all around Korea. It is for Korean shaved ice or bing soo. It is so good and it has a really nice refreshing taste. I really enjoy how many flavors there were. My favorite place was Seoul Bing, a really good place that has nice quality too. It is totally different from shaved ice anywhere else. It is topped off usually with red bean, bean powder (it's amazingly good), and so much more that you'd like like sugary sweets and syrup.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Overall, I think Korea is an ideal place to visit. There are so many different cities like Seoul, Gangnam, and more. I also liked visiting tons more places. I recommend it 1000/10 to visit. I love it so much and I really admire it physically and inside of it. I love how there are so many amazing places to see and the ones I listed above are just a few out of the tons of places to see.
