🥑🍨How to Make Avocado Sorbet 🥑🍨
AVOCADO SORBET 🥑🍨
Avocado sorbet might sound gross and not tasty, or it may seem very appealing to you, but to me, it is really good. This sorbet is easy to make and pretty simple. So if you're bored on a Saturday morning and you want to eat something semi-healthy and make yourself feel healthy by eating a green vegetable/fruit. (whatever avocados are) This recipe is based off of the recipe for avocado sorbet in Modern Art Desserts.
INGREDIENTS:
- 2 avocados
- 2 1/3 cups of water
- 1 cup of cane sugar or brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp of kosher salt
- lime juice worth a whole entire lime
- A little bit of honey (1tbsp-ish)
Optional Ingredients:
- Diced strawberries & bananas
- Jam
- Chocolate Chips
DIRECTIONS:
1. Boil the water with a kettle or over the stove
2. In a heat proof bowl, combine the sugar, boiling water, salt, lime juice, and honey together. Then stir until the sugar has dissolved and it becomes a yellowish brownish liquid that is very light.
3. Puree the pitted and peeled avocados in a blender
4. With the blender running, add the liquid slowly little by little into the blender so the mixture is fully combined
5. Pour the mixture into a freezer safe pan or bowl and cover it by foil
6. Freeze the mixture for 5-6 hours maybe 4 depending on the density of your mixture
7. Take out of the freezer, scoop it and eat!
NOTES:
- You can store it in a airtight container to keep the sweetness, but if it is too sweet, let it sit in the freezer without being covered for about half an hour to an hour.
- You can keep it for 2 weeks and then it is 'expired'
